Two Brazilians, a Dane, a Fin, and an American walked into a bar

Hi boys and girls.

I know it's been a while. I realized this morning I havn't posted anything since Paris...which was a pathetic post of all the things I ate while in France and the promise of 'to be continued'. I guess i kind of lied. What eves, like you guys really want to hear about how amazing the Eiffel Tower is and how I almost died ridding a giant heavy city bike through one of those plaza that don't have lanes so the cars just drive around willy nilly. What you really want to hear about is Foie Gras and pastries, right? Good. Then go look at the pictures and drool, because I have never eaten so well in my life. In my LIFE I tell you! I did have an amazing time in Paris. I'm kind of considering the possibility of learning French and spending the rest of my life eating in Paris...I mean living in Paris. Ok same thing.

Well not much new to discuss in Copenhagen. It's cold. Surprise. The sun goes down at 4:00pm and doesn't come up again until 8:00. And apparently it will keep getting darker earlier until the end of December.

Last Friday was a Danish Holiday. It was J-Day. Julebryg. Christmas Beer Day. Um, yes it is a Holiday. Every year on the first Friday in November, at exactingly a minute before 9:00pm, Tuborg Brewery releases its Christmas Brew and everyone it Denmark rushes out to try it. I'm not kidding. Everyone in Denmark rushes out to try it. And giant beer trunks decorated with holiday themed logos drive around town and deliver the beers and pass out Tuborg paraphernalia. And there is merrymaking and joy and intoxication everywhere. Obviously not something I was going to miss out on.

I met up with some other Au Pairs in Copenhagen and we all made a pot of spaghetti and drank boxed wine. I swear, i haven't been this poor since Spring 2010 when The K and I first moved to San Diego. Then around 8:30 we headed out. And it was a fantastic night. Two Brazilians, a Dane, a Fin, and an American walked into a bar....wait...no this is not a joke. I have a Tuborg Christmas Hat to prove it...it even lights up.

Anyway, beside that not much else to talk about. It's college apps time again (it's the most terr-i-ble time of the yeaarr!) And I will be forcing myself to work on my applications until they are completely finished and proofed (long before the deadline!).

Have a Merry Christmas and A Happy Tuborg!
