A nice walk and a weird dog

Yesterday I decided to lug my camera along for Tila and I's morning walk.  It was a beautiful, sunny day. And only just bellow freezing! Thank goodness there was no wind, or I would have been frozen to death by the time we got home. You can see that some of these pictures are not exactly sunny and bright. And even though i'm not really a great photographer, that's no my bad picture taking. That's what a sunny day looks like in Denmark, in January, at 11 am.

She likes to get her picture taken. It is both adorable and annoying.

One of the things I love about the forest here is all the ponds and lakes that randomly appear all over.

This is the caretaker's house in the woods. They have chickens, and lambs, and the garage has a thatched roof. I want to live here.

These are the only hills in Denmark (besides the ones on my road to town, of course). They do look lovely covered in icy snow.

Another frozen lake. I'm no photographer, but I like the light in this.

Yet another frozen small lake/ pond. About the fourth one on our morning walk.

This is the kindergarden that actually has class by the lake every day. Little boys like to smash things with sticks in every culture.  I felt a little creepy adding this picture, but you can't see any baby faces, so I thought I'd be fine hah

And Now for a bunch of pictures of the weird dog who was way too excited to get her picture taken. She found a frozen stick, pranced around with it, got a piece of ice lodged in her throat, coughed it up, growled at the stick, then picked it up and tried to take it home.

Hey look at my stick. It's a stick, isn't it nice? It's frozen. Ahhh frozen!

Ahhh ice in my throat! ahhhhhhhhh!

Leaping around with my frozen stick before I start coughing it up and growling at it.

Ok bye now. You don't need to walk me home.

THE END

oh ok, one more.

No wait! Take another one, my eyes were closed!

Snow!

Snow! Snow snow snow snow snow snow! Snoooooooooow!

It's snowing. I love it. We had crepes and hot chocolate for lunch.

Can it be Christmas again?

Where is the tree?

What about the lights?

I'm suddenly craving roast duck ....or crackling pig.

Oh risalamande!

Glogg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dang it, it's January.

Yes, it is finally snowing. Ok, right now it's not snowing, but all day there have been fluffy white flakes drifting down from the sky and nestling cozily in the grass, on the roofs, in the street, on hedges, on cars. It makes me so very happy, I can't help but stop and stare dreamily out the window. All day the family has seen me frozen in random spots, probably drooling a little, and muttering to myself about 'how pretty, it's so pretty. snowy wnowy." I think they already assume I'm nuts, so it's not a big deal. I'm lucky that they take me as I am.

Hopefully tomorrow there will be more and I can get some pictures of our cozy little town in the snow. I love snow. If winter has to last over half the year here, at least there is snow to make it more wonderful. And I get to wear my boots.

Someone remind me of this post a few months when I'm sick and tired of this stuff.
