Blurp

So the other day I went out with J and E for a walking tour. Because we've only lived here eight months and need a tour guide to show us around.  Hey, it was free, don't judge....and we thought we might learn something new.

For all interested parties check out Copenhagen Free Tour, the company also does tours in other European cities and was actually pretty fun. I didn't take any pictures...because...well...we didn't go anywhere new. But we still got to hear some cool stories by our tour guide and learned a little bit about Copenhagen's past.

What else to report?

Today I will wear my flip flops for the first time since I came to Denmark.

Yesterday there was a huge festival in Copenhagen to celebrate Laborer's Day; but I had to work and missed pretty much the whole thing.

E has a sunglasses tan line that is pretty amazing.

Friday is a holiday and will hopefully include a picnic in the park.

Reason I♥ DK

#22.  Spring time really is as wonderful as all the Danes say. All winter I've been hearing, in thick funny Danish accents, "Oh, but Danish summers and springs are the best!" And they really...really are.

#23. On above mentioned walking tour we learned that even though Denmark was occupied by German Nazis during WWII, out of the around 7,500 Jews living in Denmark, 7,400 of them were saved or protected from the Nazis. Giving Danish Jews the best survival rate of anywhere in Europe during WWII. Even went the were sent to death camps the King refused to allow the German's to take his people and sent aid to rescue them.

#23.  Danes put fluffy marshmallow goo on top of ice cream cones.  It's like whipped cream and melted marshmellows procreated all over your triple scoop.
